Christian Korta

The Board of Directors

Christian Korta, founder of Architects for Christ, is a senior in the Judson University architecture program. He spent the summer of 2011 as an intern at 100 Fold Studio in Lakeside, Montana. Working under John Hudson, he was challenged to consider his profession in terms of his faith. Following his expereince there, he continued seeking experience combining his faith with his profession. In spring of 2012, he accompanied Jae Cha, Professor at Judson Univerisity and Katie Guttormson to Honduras for a weekend experience learning about architecture in the mission field. He currently serves as President of Tau Sigma Delta, Gamma Xi at Judson University, and has been recognized on the Dean’s Honor List. He has been involved with the AIAS, serving two semesters as secretary in the Judson University chapter.

Lindsay Wehmeier is a senior at Judson University, She expects to earn her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture degree in the spring of 2013. She is currently the treasurer of the Tau Sigma Delta Gamma Xi chapter at Judson University and a member of Judson’s AIAS chapter. Her interests lie within the realm of urban design. After completing her education, she hopes to design and revitalize urban spaces which define place and facilitate community.

Katherine Ann Guttormson is a twenty-five year old Intern Architect from Minnesota. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from Judson University in 2010 and continued on to acquire her Master of Architecture with a concentration in Sustainable Design at Judson University in May of 2012. During her academic career she received the Chicago Women in Architecture Award, the Henry Adams Award, and the Dean’s Excellence Award. She was a member of the Alpha Lamda Delta and Tau Sigma Delta Honor Societies. She was involved in Judson’s Student Body Government and Chapter of American Institute of Architecture Students. She also volunteered her time serving on various mission trips globally using her Architecture talents. Most notably, living and working in India for four months serving with Engineering Ministries International, a non-profit organization. She currently works for JLG Architects in Grand Forks, North Dakota where she now resides. JLG Architects is an up and coming design firm in the midwest, that has earned “America’s Top 20 Architecture Firms to Work For”. She hopes to continue working for JLG, while using her skills in Architecture to serve Christ whether it be locally or globally.

Hannah Rosenthal is twenty-three year old architect-in-training from Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She received a professional Bachelor in Architecture in May 2012 from a private university in Chicago, the Illinois Institute of Technology. Hannah is currently completing a Master of Science in Architecture from Iowa State University, working studiously in Ames, Iowa to research the effects of architectural education on international development. She has worked for several summers at a mid-sized architecture firm near her home town called Rohrbach Associates, PC. This firm specializes in institutional work for local hospitals, medical clinics and the University of Iowa. Hannah is passionate about fighting global poverty through design and hopes to instill this passion in young Americans by teaching design at a secular university after completing her education in May 2013.

Sean Gallagher

Sean Gallagher received his BA and M ARCH from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.  Completing his studies in 1993 he has practiced in both large and small firm settings.  In the fall of 2004 he began Gallagher Associates Architects in the community of Geneva Illinois, which continues a practice of historic residential and small scale commercial work in the communities of the Fox Valley.  In the spring of 2008 Gallagher began his relationship with Judson University as an adjunct instructor with Professor Tom Jaeger, teaching a comprehensive design studio to fourth year students.  He was made a full time teacher at Judson in the fall of 2010 and currently serves as an Assistant Professor teaching classes in professional practice, construction technology, and design.  He also serves as the IDP Education Coordinator for the School of Architecture.  He and his wife Janet, married since August of 1990, live in Geneva Illinois with their two children Sarah and Jonah.  They attend and are members of New Covenant Bible Church in Saint Charles Illinois.

Rosa Hernandez

Rosa Hernandez was born in a Christian home and spent her childhood in El Salvador, moving to the States at the age of 10. During her high school years in New Jersey, she developed an interest in architecture and began to embrace it as her future career. She became involved with the church and served in different ministries. She attended New Jersey Technical Institute for two years, then transferred to Judson University feeling a calling in a faith-based approach to architecture. As a Board member for AC, she hopes to remained involved in the early development with a particular passion for students at public universities, encouraging them to combine their faith with their profession.

Jeremy Lindsey

Stephen Hershey received a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Virginia in 2011.  He is expected to complete a Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech in 2013. He interned for 100 Fold Studio, a non-profit Christian architecture firm, in 2011.  Most recently, he interned for Grunley Construction where he worked as a project engineer on the German Embassy Renovation Project in Washington DC.  His favorite architects are H.H. Richardson, Louis Sullivan, and Frank Lloyd Wright.

Jeremy Lindsey is a professor of architecture at Judson University, five years running. He continues to maintain ties to local practice while teaching full-time. Jeremy's primary goals in life is to see the growth of his family in Christ. His wife, Rachel, of seven years, is his invaluable and perfect companion in raising three beautiful but precocious toddlers. Next to this, Jeremy wants to make evident Christ's glory through the act of design, specifically in architecture. At the moment, this takes the shape of building in to the lives of beginning designers at Judson, placing the questions of excellency in Christ manifest through the beauty and service of architectural design.
